Rollin' rollin' rollin' ...
Join us this Saturday, September 7 at Wheelin' Weekend Downtown Walla Walla. You will find us on Second Ave or also known for the day as "Ladies Alley!"
It's the first year for Ladies Alley. Four of the Walla Walla Valley Mobile Boutiques will be parked on Second Avenue, between the blocks of Main and Rose Streets. Lots of fun events targeted to the women-folk
throughout the weekend that features more than 300 vintage and collectible vehicles on display
downtown on Main Street.
Joining us on the block will be Walla Walla Sweets Rollergirls selling tickets to their final derby of the season, merchandise
and water; The Moms’ Network; fresh food from the grill by the
Smokehouse Wenches; and a roaming fashion show coordinated by Annelise of Celebrity Henna with steam punk and vintage fashions
from Door Number Two, Blue Window Vintage and the Kirkman House Museum.
Participating wineries along the stretch, including at the Marcus
Whitman Hotel & Conference Center, will offer specials, too.
Haulin' Sass will have some new items and even some summer clearance. It's going to be a great day!

Love of Junk
Love of Junk is a new venue for the Walla Walla Valley. It is located east of Walla Walla on Valley Chapel Road and the setting is a big red barn, 1910 farm house, and lots of green pasture overlooking the beautiful Blue Mountains. It took place this last weekend, June 14-15.
Vintage trailers were featured, as well as our own Walla Walla Valley Mobile Boutique group with a variety of "lovely junk" that was in the offering. The large barn was filled full of antique vendors and even quilters. Outdoors, there was a selection of vendors selling vintage furniture, pots of flowers, and old rusty tractor parts. Everything from vintage farm tools to lace and doilies. If you couldn't find it, then you didn't really want it. There were even food booths enticing us with lemonade, funnel cakes, smoke-house sandwiches, Mexican tortas (yum!) and even a touch of the Greek with giros and baklava.
We are proud to say that Haulin' Sass was featured on their photo gallery on the Love of Junk website, as well as on their reservation page. We had a great time those two days and happy to see so many of locals embrace this concept that is new for Walla Walla. Love of Junk is making plans for next year!

The Adventures of Haulin' Sass!
Sure, every little girl or teen sooner or later wants to become a gypsy and run away. Well, after a few middle-aged birthdays, we made it happen.
Our first adventure out with the newly remodeled Haulin' Sass was during the Walla Walla Spring Release in May. We were joined by one of our "sister" mobile boutiques, Carovana, and headed out to wine country. We parked at the idyllic area of Tero Estates, one of the oldest vineyards in the area at Windrow Vineyards. The view was beautiful, the air was fresh, and we could feel the coolness and hear the sounds from the creek behind us.
The next stop was a week later during Walla Walla's Balloon Stampede Weekend. We were parked at the Walla Walla Valley Wine Incubators at the Airport nearby Kontos Cellars and were joined by two other mobile boutiques, Wayfarer Boutique and Xochi Mobile Boutique. How did we do? Can you say HOT-HOT-HOT and we ain't talkin' sales. We're talking hot black asphalt. Hey, we chalk them up to our learning experiences.
Later in May was a very different venue as we were parked in front of Face It Spa for their Open House. We were on a busy road so it was a great way to let the local peeps know we have arrived!

All the fun of a food truck, but without the calories!
So, a lot of people have been asking, "What are you going to sell in your little trailer?"
Sassy stuff! After all, we're not called, "Haulin' Sass" for nothing. Duh!
We'll be selling a blend of the new and the vintage, from the shabby chic to the retro. Sassy home decor and fashion accessories.

Long Story in the Short Version
Take one licensed massage therapist and one professional wine geek, and when they put their heads together ...
Enter one friend who was intrigued with their idea. Later, he would find himself in the role of the "negotiator." This 6'7" gentle giant was the perfect person who placed phone calls to many used trailer ads and negotiated until we found the right one ...
Now we are in the middle of cleaning, painting and freshening up this 1967 Fireball Camp Trailer, as well as seeking out wonderful treasures to fill it with.
The grand opening you ask? We are aiming for April or May. Stay tuned for the time and place.

Entrepreneurs on Wheels
You've heard of online shopping? Here comes "mobile shopping." Mobile Boutiques are the next iteration of the food truck phenomenon. Instead of gourmet sandwiches and deep fried candy bars, this is calorie-free shopping at its best: everything from home decor, tchotchkes, retro fashions, sundries and used record albums.
These 21st century peddlers are repurposing old buses, trailers, and trucks and filing them with new and vintage treasures for sale. Check out this round up from Condé Nast Traveler showing 11 of the coolest peddlers around - - from Portland, Oregon to Berlin, Germany.
This looks like so much fun, we want to give it a try! First, we must find a trailer.
